"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near." (Hebrews 10:24-25)
Joining a small group is the best way to accomplish our 4L's. Loving one another, living in community, learning from each other and leading others to Christ all take place most effectively within the small group setting. We consider this ministry to be the primary foundation for spiritual growth.
Also, this is what makes Living Grace Church truly unique! Sadly, only a very small percentage of Christians in America read the Bible regularly on their own, not counting church services. But here at LGC, our pastors share quiet time devotions together at every meeting. Our deacons have quiet time with our pastors and then our leaders meet with our members in a network of small groups and read the Bible and share devotions with each other! Can you imagine a church in America where everyone reads the Bible every week and shares about it together? It's...revolutionary!
We firmly believe in the priesthood of all believers and take seriously the training of laypeople to be good stewards of the Word of God. We give opportunities to our members in explaining and teaching the Bible, with careful wisdom and guidance and correction, if necessary. Our hope is for all believers to be able to lead family worship in their homes or even lead house churches with other believers. If the Church evolves to a house-church model in the future, we'll have trained members that can lead worship services and share the Word of God effectively.
